Once again today I will update the report once the current tournament standings become available. And once again thank you to those keeping me in the loop in my radio-sked-less location!

There was a bit more action on Day 3 with 9 tags by the second sked. Peter Yates’ Absolute sat tagged the first marlin of the day to Sheridan Yates at 200lbs.  The second of their 2 from 3 for the day was a 350 to Stephanie Salway which was her first marlin and gave her quite the tussle taking 40 minutes to get close enough to tag.

Capt. Daniel McCarthy on Moana III sent some pics of his big fish that he put in excess of 1200lbs for angler Ichiro Takahashi from Day 2 below. More to come!

Tentatively updated: Capt. Darren “Biggles” Haydon’s Bounty Hunter is in the lead with 3 tags for angler Parke Berolzheimer. And I heard that Capt. Ross Finlayson’s Top Shot also tagged a big fish yesterday late that Ross put at 950 for his angler Tomonori Omi.

Tags for the day were made up of:

  1. Absolute tagged 200lbs
  2. Amokura tagged 400lbs
  3. Hellraiser tagged 200lbs
  4. Dog House tagged 350lbs
  5. Bounty Hunter tagged 150lbs
  6. Absolute tagged 350lbs
  7. Little Audrey tagged 150lbs
  8. Bounty Hunter tagged 150lbs
  9. Amokura tagged 150lbs
  10. Moana tagged 200lbs
  11. Zulu tagged 100lbs
  12. Top Shot tagged 950lbs

Outside the comp, Capt. Craig “Sparra” Denham’s Hot Shot went 2 from 3 with fish at 150 and 600lbs for Bill (photo top).  And Capt. Tim Richardson’s Tradition tagged one too. And Capt. Adam Jordan’s Iona II also reporting adding another 3 from 7 the last 4 days at 250lb, 350lb and 400lb for Michelle Evans from Newcastle GFC. Capt. Tim Dean’s Calypso also reporting a fish a day on this trip. Tim said they also raised a pod of fish yesterday but they had other things on their mind!

Gold Coast

With the Gold Coast GFC set to run their weather postponed Shootout this weekend there have been good reports of blue marlin in the last several weeks. Capt. Glanville Heydenrych’s Mufasa has had a good run lately.  Glanville says there is some really good water around with fish all over and in the last 4 charters they have managed to go 8 from 11 on blue marlin including some nice fat healthy ones among them too.
