Tourney report via Club Captain Jamie Behrens – thanking you as always Jamie!

14 boats competed in the Ladies’ Annual Tournament held on Saturday made up of 38 female anglers (36 seniors and 2 juniors).

Conditions in the morning were calm with 1.5m swell although the wind got up 15-20 knots in the afternoon.

Fishing stats: 47 strikes and 38 hook ups resulted in 11 tags. All tag fish were black marlin, with a handful of non-qualifying tuna and mahi mahi.

Marlene Hicks (from Topless Charters) fished back on board one of their previous boats Still Producin’ with current owners Wayne and Leanne Baker.  Marlene said it was a dream for her to catch another billfish on her!  Both Leanne and Marlene tagged a fish each early in the comp but soft bites between tides prevented them from adding to the score seeing them come in second overall.
