30 odd boats have gathered in the bays of Lizard Island for the start of the 30th Anniversary Lizard Island Black Marlin Classic today (sailpast at 9:15, start fishing at 11am).  With conditions very breezy yesterday (starting to decrease today), many teams elected to go directly to the island last night and not fish.

I did have the one report from Capt. Darren “Biggles” Haydon’s Bounty Hunter who was in Cooktown on changeover after his last trip with 5 fat rats to 400lbs in the 5 days.

I’ll try and report the fishing but let’s see how this internet goes!
