Townsville big marlin season, Cairns availability

At this time of year all talk is of Cairns, but our NQ cousins in Townsville do see a bit of action as well on the edge – the edge being all the way out at Myrmidon Reef down there.

This past weekend, the weather turned it on as did the fish. Former Townsville GFC President Stav Bogiatzis tells me that on board Mick Dykstra’s Reel Crazy they raised 5 small (100-300lb) black marlin and converted 3. A great start to the season!

I also heard on the grapevine another big fish was reported in Cairns yesterday. I’ll try and get more details and a report very soon!
