Another weekend, another weekend of tournaments. Again, as we wait to hear any results come through a quick look around at fishing outside the comps.

Capt. Ken Brown on Megumi tells me that the blue marlin fishing off SEQ has been quite quiet of late, with just a few caught for a lot of boats fishing.  He fished Saturday and managed to get one about 250lb east of Moreton Island for angler Brad Booth.

Better luck for those fishing inside to the north on the Sunny Coast for the little blacks.  Lachlan tells me he fished on Cat-A-Pult Saturday and Sunday for a 2-1-1 and 3-3-1 respectively on the Mooloolaba 18 mile. Down at Port Stephens, boats fishing the Carpark and wide had little luck, but again boats venturing north had more fun with little blacks in close. Capt. Tim Dean’s Calypso released 9 over two days fishing (Friday/Saturday).
