And I’m back! Thank you for your patience over the lockdown period. Although travel restrictions are in place, lockdown is mostly over and so we are back fishing (in the case of charter operators with a smaller client base due to the travel restrictions) and social distancing requirements..but we are fishing…or fishing very soon. And the private boat fleet certainly is as well.
The Fraser Island little black marlin are here in numbers and have been since early in the lockdown.
As early as late April, KEKOA‘s Luke and Kelly Fallon fishing on their 21 foot Carribean Senshi were getting as many as 8 blacks in a short day leaving early for the long trip home. Although the fishing slowed in May they returned in numbers in time to put some competition into the end of season club point score for Sunshine Coast boats.
Jay Graham’s Chaos spent 3 days at Fraser last week for a total of 27 tags. Fishing the same period Mick Scott’s Reel Crazy tagged 19.
Fish have been in the very small (2kg) to normal 10-15kg range. Great fun on the ultra light tackle!

Welcome Back Kel!!
Thanks Craig :D
Hello Kelly,
I am Scott Bullock and I own the original Balek, which has been in our family since 1977. Would love to know who owns “Balek 3”, if you know?
Hi Scott, I asked Luke and he doesn’t know either unfortunately so I’ve made your question public in case others may know and can answer!
