Cairns Season 2019
As the Cairns giant black marlin season continues to wrap up for a lot of the charter fleet this week its great to hear there are still a few good fish around.
Capt. Tim Richardson’s Tradition has finished its last trip of the season finding a nice fish Tim put at 900lbs for Paul on Day two and finished up yesterday with one more on the last day.
And photog David Granville spent the last 5 days on board Capt. Haydon Bell’s Release with Ron and Chris from Pelagic Gear on board. David said that while the big girls eluded them they finished up with 8 smallish blacks and jumped off a couple of blues out wide on lures. Great weather and great times with Haydon keeping them entertained!
This close encounter (at top) was one of 1 from 2 last Sunday on board Capt. Craig “Sparra” Denham’s Hot Shot. If you haven’t see the video yet (why not??? its gone viral!!) see it below from Redrum Sport Fishing.
SEQ Fraser Island
Catch up report from last weekend with Joel Grattidge’s Pitch Black fishing with Brett Barton, Andrew Deisling and Josh Alwood who went 6 from 8 (5 blues and a stripe) Saturday including a converted double of blues. Sunday slower with 2 from 6 and saw a couple of others that didn’t bite including a blue approx 70kg that didn’t have a bill!
The good water has moved south with boats reporting up to 10 bites a day on blues the last couple of days so look forward to hearing how the weekend of fishing pans out!
