Fraser Island light tackle firing

Travis Byrne fished his trailer boat at Fraser for 2 and a bit days for 9 from 14 little blacks. A few days earlier Sunshine Coast GFC-ers on board Michael Scott’s Reel Crazy release 8 blacks and a sail in a few days fishing. Mick returned again over the long weekend with club young gun Ben Massuirit on board for 16-12-9, 16-10-7 and 6-4-2 all on 6kg.

Mooloolaba GFC’s club members also fished light tackle at Fraser on the weekend both on the outside and at Rooneys and ended up tagging 4 little black marlin on Takkachee for Jamie Behren’s sons Michael and Mitchell.  Zane Bennett and his two boys PJ and Daniel were also fishing on their boat Infinity tagging 5 black marlin.

At home in Mooloolaba before heading north to Fraser Hellrazor, Tag Ends and Infinity each tagged a sail.

Cairns

Although the reports are few and far between there are fish being caught along the reef. Capt. Adam Jordan’s Iona II has had a few good days this week including a 3 from 6 and 2 from 5 to 400lbs.

And a good start yesterday for Townsville’s Kiama off Cairns with 1 from 2 on their first day.
