Mallacoota: The NSW south coast fishing has already been pretty good this year but they kicked it up a notch yesterday to take the focus away from the Gold Coast with Grant Shorland and Matt Cassar and the boys on Grant’s Grady White Cubin’ going 21-21-16 striped marlin. Fishing alongside their mates in the 6m Bass Straits trailer boat also released 7!
Gold Coast: Capt. Ross McCubbin’s Lucky Strike fished half day yesterday and while Ross said that the fishing was a lot slower with the current running hard, they still got a nice double just before lines inn 70/100 kg to finish up 2.5 days with Dav and Adrian Wright with an outstanding 17 from 19 for the 2 brothers!
Also this week Michael Umback christened his new boat Foghorn a 185 Scout with a first marlin on Thursday. Michael said that originally he had tried to find some water away from the crowd in the hope of switching one on fly by without luck tried the live baits going 6-5-3 black marlin and a 19kg wahoo. One of the blacks was previously tagged so he’s looking forward to hearing the story on that!
