We had a chance to catch up with the team on Too Easy last night and personally share our congratulations with them. Russ said the fish bit three times before it was hooked (and gave him a coronary twice!) and jumped a lot early in the fight. They also had it on the leader once quite early but knowing they could afford to take their time eventually had it back after two hours.

Robbie on the rod said that it had finally all sunk in and its truly a once in a lifetime fish!

Big Blue Marlin

Capt. Brad Dobinson’s Special K finished up their Fraser Saturday with another special Fraser Coast fish.  Brad says they finished the season in epic style with the fish we were waiting all season for – a giant blue marlin for Angler Rudi Vedalago – his first blue!

Fighting for over an hour on 130 and deck hand Johnny Burke had the wire 3 times before finally getting the fish boat side. Brad says it was a giant blue thick all the way to the tail but with only one man on the deck, the fish made the decision on whether to have a closer look easy as the hook pulled boat side.

Cairns Giant Black

Capt. Ross Finlayson’s Bounty Hunter also finished up their season off Cairns on a high yesterday with a fish that Ross put in the 1050-1100lb range!
