Apologies I couldn’t get online yesterday morning! Catch up for the fishing over the last two days:

Capt. Ross Finlayson’s Bounty Hunter released a big fish yesterday photo at top!

Wayne McKenzie messaged that he has just returned from a week of fishing up to the rock (Lizard Island) and back aboard Mark Wheelers Hull Yeah with his wife Debbie releasing one around 300lb and then Angela Jones release another fish of similar size. After loosing many many baits to toothy critters up north they were rewarded on their last day back south with a big girl well over the mark. Wayne says that after a few patient years of heavy tackle Angela joined the grander club releasing a truly amazing fish alive and healthy!

Another great day on the GBR with Capt AJ and crew on the Iona II Monday with a 2 from 5 catching another big girl Capt AJ put at 950lbs for Carlos Yidi from Miami USA as well as a fish at 300lbs for Stephan. Also Monday Capt. Tim Richardson’s Tradition released a 700lb-er.

Capt. Luke Fallon’s KEKOA also released two for US angler Jeff Marlow on Monday and followed up with another yesterday.

Port Douglas Marlin Challenge

Champion Boat Went to Cristian Chapman’s Reel Cross with 4 tags, second place Wild Turkey with 3 tags, third place Gotilla with 3 tags. Champion Angler was Bob Reynolds on Wild Turkey.

Groote Eylandt Annual Billfish Tournament

Competitors enjoyed some of the best fishing seen in the comp for quite some years with 93 tagged (7 marlin and 86 sails).
