First reported ‘grander’ of the 2018 big marlin season was released yesterday on Matt Thompson’s Townsville-based Kianja. Matt tells me that Kianja was fishing Linden Bank after a quick turnaround at Port Douglas. Putting the big rods in at 2pm on Linden Bank, at 4pm the large skip tuna disappeared in a classic inside out bite. David Trask was angler. She was released healthy and they put her at well over 1000lbs!
