With a strong wind warning being called by the coast guard around lunch time, the tournament committee made the call to end the tournament early on the final day to give crews a bit of relief. But with Capt. Chris Sharky Miles’ team on Levante team already adding a tag on Day 3, they had only increased their lead and were fitting winners of the comp with 7 tags overall (5 blacks and 2 sailfish). Emma Kate also added a fish to give them second place clear of Hellraiser in third.
That’s not to say there wasn’t some brilliant fishing on the final day despite the bad weather with Gavin Goodwin’s Above Grade excelling in the rough tagging three on day 3. By my count that makes 57 tags in the three days (well, 2.5 days). Congrats to all for another good fun comp!
