Townsville

Mick Dykstra’s Reel Crazy has finally notched up the boat’s first black marlin of the season off Cape Bowling Green. Renee tells me that they put a tag in what she called a very fit and healthy 12kg black and that bait is starting to look the part and water is beautiful. Hopefully this is the start of a good season on little blacks and sails (already a few seen) for Townsville and the rest of the north!

Update 16/6: Capt. Ross Grennsn’s Force 5 (Ultimate Sport Fishing Charters) on 4 day charter to the reef off Townsville found a lot of bait around and went 1-1-1 on a sail aprrox 25kg on 15kg for a group from Brissy.

Fraser Island

Blues MIA but a striped for David McMaster’s Pole Dancer joining some of the other Sunshine Coast GFC boats off Fraser on the weekend.

Gold Coast

And one from two blue marlin on the Gold Coast for Jesse Hill on his Reel Teaser among a few others on other boats.

Its not necessarily crazy hot winter fishing in Queensland, but its a start ;-)
