MGFC’s stalwarts the Douglass family’s Luna took out back to back wins at the billfish bonanza over the weekend with the only tagged marlin on Day 1. While Day 2 was a better day on the scoreboard, with the the stats 32-26-24 (1 tagged black marlin, 3 non qualifying tuna, 14 wahoo, 6 mahi mahi) the rest of the tournament fleet couldn’t catch up. And while the fishing improved from Saturday the weather wasn’t as good.

The final results were (thanks to club captain Jamie Behrens):

Champion light tackle angler- Wendy Pendrick- 773.75 points
Heavy tackle angler- Peter Ayoub- 1500 points
Champion other species- Wendy Pendrick- 773.75 points
Champion male angler- Peter Ayoub- 1500 points
Champion female angler- Wendy Pendrick- 773.75 points

Champion boat over/ 7m- Luna
First billfish tagged day 1- Peter Ayoub
First billfish tagged day 2- Rodger Harris.
