The great blue marlin fishing continued on the Gold Coast Friday before the weather well and truly came through. Glanville Heydenrych’s Mufasa got 4 of his 7 blues hooked up to the boat. Glanville said that they had one double hookup and another time raised two at the same time. All of the fish were in the 120kg range (260lb) in what was a day on the water as a delayed Christmas party for Adrian and his builders team.
Nearby Capt. Craig “Sparra” Denham on HotShot likewise had a great day out with a 2 from 3 at 250lbs.
NSW Interclub
Some green water put the pause on the inshore bite for the first weekend of the Interclub with only 30 odd marlin tagged for the first weekend. The unfriendly Day 1 weather eased for a much better Day 2 when the majority of the fish were tagged.
On the Capture wide the heaviest marlin is a 130kg blue on Kill Tank and a 239kg mako on Finaddict.
Lake Macquarie (Team 1) is leading the teams in Capture while Sydney GFC (Team 2) leads in T&R. You can see the full leaderboard after the first weekend here.
