The season seems to be fizzling out rather than ending with a bang as more and more crews wind up their trips for the season. The exception being on Capt. Dean Beech’s Onsite who finished up a three day trip with 6 from 7 to 800lbs including also a sailfish for former Australian Cricketer Andrew Symonds (above) as well as a blue marlin.  And Capt. Bobby Jones’ Iceman who also added a fish at 700lbs yesterday.

Redcliffe All Tackle Tournament

Redcliffe all tackle tournament (RATT) was held last weekend 21st and 22nd. Unfortunately, the tournament was called off on Saturday due to bad weather and Sunday wasn’t much better with overcast conditions, rain and a 3 metre swell most of the day. 16 boats and 64 anglers competed with 6 marlin (4 blues and 2 blacks) as well as 10 mahi mahi.

Results with thanks from Todd Kalpus on Deep Blue who went 2 from 3 blue marlin for the day. One of the blues was tail wrapped and died so Todd reports the bought it in weight it 132kg, filleted it, ate some and gave the rest to the local homeless shelter.  Photos below – thanks Todd!
