Quick tidbit from the shootout with more to come (I’m traveling today and offline a little later, so will get this in early):

After some weather induced hesitation the GC Blue Marlin Shootout became a one day event with some 20 odd boats competing yesterday (Sunday) for the winner-takes-all prize. And the gong and total prize money of 24K went to Chad Holmes’ crew on board Addixion with the only qualifying fish at 189kg.

Plenty of other fish caught and seen amongst the fleet (Ross tells me 15 in total) with several boats reporting good numbers. Capt. Ross McCubbin’s Lucky Strike went 3-2-2 both for angler David McCallum.  Capt. Ross Martin was at the wheel of Fish Whisperer who also reported a 3-2-2, while David Trask’s Big Business also went 2 from 3.
