Overall a total of 53 boats and 201 anglers competed. Day 1 was cancelled due to weather but fishing did go ahead on Day 2 (Sunday) and Day 3 (Monday). Congratulations once again to Capt. Dave Cassar’s Slammer took out Most marlin tagged by a Boat with 4 tags – including 3 to novice angler and Highest Point Scoring Female Carly Bexterman.
Over 100 fish were recorded throughout the competition including 17 marlin tags with most of those recorded on the final day of fishing (Monday) – 12 marlin tags for the day.
Light Tackle Record Chase
Capt. Adam Jordan on Iona II is fishing Hellraiser‘s Sue and Steve Ahlers this week as Sue resumes her light tackle record quest. And glad to see Rhino on the camera again! (photos above and below)
Adam says they have had plenty of bites and caught two on 6kg so far. They also broke the line on a potential Aus record blue marlin. Yesterday afternoon they added another black on the 8kg that would have been close to the record. The hunt continues today – good luck Sue!
