It’s crossover time!

While some of the fleet are still fishing light tackle (Day 1 & 2 Innisfail Billfish Tournament results below – final day of fishing today) one of a few boats already out fishing outside of the edge for the big girls is Iona II. Capt. Adam started off his day inside releasing a juvie black for his guests celebrating Gary Smith’s 50th birthday. But the day was to end on an even bigger high with the time spent outside the edge producing a big girl for Gary that Capt. Adam Jordan put at 900lbs! (below)

Adam said the big bite was followed by a relatively short fight before she was brought along side for release. Awesome start to the season!

Also fishing light tackle of Cairns, the Poulter family’s Think Big released this estimated 30kg black marlin for Sharon.

At Innisfail, teams have been enjoying spectacular weather with 7 billfish tags reported on Day 1. The fishing improved a little more yesterday with another 10 tags (and 39 gamefish to weigh). The final day’s fishing is today!
