While the east coast rides out more of the same winter weather which has been keeping most boats in port, it’s coming up to tournament time again in the west.
Broome is hosting the AIBT this year in conjunction with their annual Billfish Tournament – here’s hoping we see a repeat of previous years comps where competitors have tagged hundreds of marlin and sails during competition fishing and where multiple hookups are the norm! Broome GFC’s Jeff Cooper reports that they are already experiencing an epic season with boats raising over 40 fish in a day and releasing double digits.
