On a day that most of the fleet either bunkered in behind the reef, or returned early to Cairns (I’m told it was tower after tower down the leads after lunch), there is not much fishing to report. So we’ll settle for a catch up report instead.
Capt. Corey Hard on Askari has just returned from a week out wide to Bougainville and Flora Reefs with owner Shane and Port Stephens’ lads Jason Lee and Dave Tucker on board. The boys got stuck into plenty of dogtooth and yellowfin tuna out there before heading to the Sea Mount. At the sea mount they found some good marlin fishing with 6 from 8 to 700lbs before the weather forced them back in to the edge.
The poor weather will continue for the next four days at least and then we are looking forward to a return to the glamour November weather we expect!
